Single-row and double-row radial ball bearings are non-separable and consist of an outer ring, an inner ring, and a cage with balls. They are primarily designed for high-speed operation and to accommodate radial loads. Deep groove ball bearings can also, to a limited extent, accommodate small axial loads, especially double-row bearings. They are among the most common rolling bearings due to their simple design, numerous design variants, and low price.

Depending on the needs, deep groove ball bearings can be supplied in various designs, e.g. with reduced or increased clearance, with increased accuracy classes and with special cages adapted to work at high rotational speeds.

Furthermore, deep groove ball bearings are available in many designs, enabling significant simplification or improvement in machinery and equipment. Examples include the use of bearings with ZZ shields or 2RS rubber seals. Bearings with two shields or two rubber seals are filled by the manufacturer with an appropriate amount of plastic grease, sufficient for operation under average conditions for their entire service life.
